Why Packet Transport Network?

Telecom service providers are being challenged by the exponential increase indemand for new

The Solution: Packet Transport with MPLS-TP

The Packet Transport Network (PTN) (Packet Transport Network) is an evolution from older packet-based
networks, efficiently supporting packed-based services while featuring the same transport-grade and
deterministic-performance benefits as existing MSPP-based (Multi-Service Provisioning Platform) network infrastructures.

The MPLS-TP (Multi Protocol Label Switching-Transport Profile) is a connection-oriented packet-transport
technology that enables the evolution from older network infrastructures to the modern PTN. MPLS-TP
provides the transport networking flexibility required by Ethernet and IP services, while preserving the
scalability, manageability, automatic recovery, deterministic performance and OAM features of traditional transport networks.
